Celebrate Apple Season at Napa Valle Grille
How can you take a trip to Napa Valley without leaving Los Angeles? Take a drive over to Napa Valley Grille in Westwood and you'll be transported straight to Napa Valley! I wish I knew about Napa Valley Grille when I was getting my undergraduate degree at UCLA! Better late than never though, right? NVG is a classy, yet quiant restaurant with a spacious outdoor patio dining and private dining rooms located in the heart of Los Angeles' Westwood Village. What makes Napa Valley Grille unique is their constantly changing menu and the ingredients they use. The restaurant sources local and seasonal ingredients as well as uses artisan products for their dishes. The goregous fireplace, high ceilings don't hurt either!Delicious, warm flatbread for the table. More please! I'm a sucker for carbs. Sometimes I get full just off multiple refills of bread before the actual food gets to my table. What can I say? Bread is my kryptonite. So I've been told countless times that you have to get the kale salad when dining at NVG. Who am I kidding? Kale? And salad? I can vouch and say that this was one of the tastiest salads I've had. The light dressing was not overbearing and brought up the flavors of the organic black quinoa, toasted almonds, parmesan, rum raisins, and lemon parmesan vinaigrette. One dish that I really loved was the figs and prosciutto made with burrata, aged balsamic, extra virgin olive oil, and grey salt. I'm drooling right now thinking of it. Next dish to arrive at the table was the Larry Burger, named after one of Napa Valle Grille's regular customers. I anyone will name a dish after me sometime. Hint, hint. The Larry Burger was made of seasoned ground turkey, smoked cheddar, house made milk bun, sweet potato fries. I loved how the burger didn't feel too heavy. The turkey was such a welcome change from all the beef patties I had been eating. Our last dish was the Napa Trio and let me tell you... I absolutely fell in love with the curry chicken salad. It was so delicious and fresh tasting. I used to love the curry chicken salad from Urth Cafe, but this topped it.
Overall, I can't wait to go back to Napa Valley Grille and try the constantly changing menus. Currently for Fall, they are celebrating apple season by using various apple varieties on their new fall harvest menu.
A few of Napa Valley Grille’s Fall rustic apple dishes include –
- Fuji Apple and Brussel Sprout Salad with a Cumin Cider Vinaigrette served with Prosciutto wrapped Scallops
- Caramelized Apples with Grilled Pork Chop and Fall Squash Gratin
- Granny Smith Apple Tart Tatin with Calvados Ice Cream and Caramel
Can't wait to be back and try the new additions!
