Hello Kitty Con: Behind The Scenes
Hello Kitty just celebrated her 40th birthday in Los Angeles with the first ever Hello Kitty Con. Doesn't she look great for her age? She doesn't look a day over 39!Looking good Hello Kitty!(Ran into my good friend Onch who is a jewelry designer for Hello Kitty!)
The event at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA was the hotspot has all things cute, but nothing was more kawaii than all the special, limited edition food items that were (almost) too pretty to eat! I was on the scene reporting for LAist at Hello Kitty Con. From Dylan's Candy Bar's limited edition Hello Kitty chocolates and cookies, to a Hello Kitty Spam musubi maker, and Hello Kitty macarons, the first Hello Kitty Con was a sensory overload for Hello Kitty lovers and foodies alike.
Besides from all the food, there were a lot of unique things to see and touch. Hello Kitty is seriously a cult, but it's all in good fun! Everyone was so nice!
I had such a fun time at the first ever Hello Kitty Con. Thanks so much for having me. It was the most memorable event I've ever covered. Yes, even more so than the Oscars! To check out my Hello Kitty food coverage on LAist, click here.
