Ringing In Fall With Napa Valley Grille
I always love visiting Napa Valley Grille. I have fond memories of the eatery since it's the first place I had a kale salad that I couldn't stop thinking about. Plus, it's right next to UCLA where I did my undergrad where it was a Westwood must-visit. Who knew something healthy could taste so good? Seriously, if you haven't had NVG's kale salad stop what you are doing and go there right now! Because Napa Valley Grille constantly changes up their menu to use the freshest seasonal ingredients available, I find myself constantly returning to see what new dishes are in store. When I found out that NVG brought in a new executive chef, I knew I had to pay another visit. As usual, I was not disappointed. Napa valley grille
Among this season’s new additions at Napa Valley Grille, Daou Vineyards Estate Mayote paso robles and Soul of a Lion cabernet sauvignon join the restaurant’s select California-centric wine list while blood orange margaritas made with house-infused tequila and exclusive four-glass flight from Asombroso tequila are highlights among new cocktail selections. I folded and I folded fast. The wedge salad with maytag blue cheese, heirloom cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, and one manly chunk of grilled nueske bacon was spectacular. I could smell that piece of bacon from the next table over as the server as bringing it to the table. I'm also a blue cheese lover so it was perfect. The kale salad has some serious competition now. Since I opted to try a new salad, I really wanted to grab the NVG burger. The burger was packed with Snake River Farms kobe, smoked cheddar, brioche bun, and chimichurri fries. Yum! I'm drooling thinking about it right now. The best part of the burger was my burger was cooked to perfection! I know it's not for everyone, but I like my burgers and steaks cooked rare. I love the juiciness of the patty. Cooking something perfectly raw is a hard taste. It is really a testament to the chef's skill to be able to cook a great patty like this. At this point, I was so full. I had really wanted to order a cheeseboard. It sounded delicious. The cheese is served with truffle honey, strawberry mustard, and quince paste. Their I guess I'll have to order it on my next trip. At this point Chef Bice came over and insisted I at least try some dessert before I left. He really twisted my arm. I ordered the
