When Tech Meets Food
This was such a fascinating story to report on. When my article went live on Eater, many people commented along the lines of, “Oh, hell no, our robot overlords are starting the takeover.”I definitely encourage those people to, one, watch this behind-the-scenes video, and two, read through the entire Eater article (linked in my bio) to understand the full concept.
I can’t emphasize enough, despite wanting to, how many businesses are unable to hire cooks because of the labor and skill shortage. Now, strictly from a diner’s perspective, my biggest question was: Can this fast food restaurant make food that is on SGV level for lower than SGV prices? For me, the answer is yes. With crazy inflation and the lack of many Chinese food options on the Westside, I think this is a worthwhile place to eat. Honestly, you can’t even see the robot devices. They don’t care about them. It just means that it’s cheaper food for the customer. If I didn’t tell you about them, you would never know. I’m sure tip-exhausted people will also appreciate how the screen to pay doesn’t even have a tipping option.
Where else will you be able to find dishes for $2.99, $3.99, $4.99, and $5.99? And free parking in the back too.
So take a look at the article here. It brings up some interesting points and then watch my video. It gives a better look at what the future of fast food dining can be.
