What To Eat At This Weekend's 626 Night Market

What To Eat At This Weekend's 626 Night Market

This weekend, September 12-14th, is the last 626 Night Market of the year that will take place at the Santa Anita Race Track. Of course, I'll be there to give it a proper send off. As usual, many vendors are upping their menus, innovating new ideas, and collaborating with other vendors. Here's a few dishes that I'm looking forward to eating!photo 11. You gotta hand it to Mama Musubi. They are one of the most popular vendors at any of the night markets they participate in, yet they still constantly innovate and bring in new ideas/ collaborate with new chefs at each event. For this weekend's 626 Night Market, they are teaming up with Chef Jay Terauchi to do a Ahi Poke Uni 'Taco'. Seriously? Put uni on anything and I'll be all up on that! Genius! Get there early because I can guarantee that they will sell out. I've been told there will only be limited qualities available. photo 22. Another one of my favorite vendors Popd Up will be making their authentic Thai Popsicle Specialty Drinks at the 626 Night Market. From left to right, Pink Pleasure (watermelon slush), Green Monster (pineapple and Thai Basil), and Thai Tea. Their artisan popsicles are made OG style using a traditional Thai Popsicle maker using only rock salt and ice.

Here's a video I shot of the traditional Thai popsicle-making process from a previous 626 Night Market. So cool!

3. The ladies of Oh Thit will be making Rainbow Tacos with grilled lemongrass pork, topped with fresh cabbage, onions, and cilantro drizzled with their house sauce all wrapped in a tortilla.

4. I ran into Chomp Eatery at The Taste event not too long ago. They'll be collaborating with La Sriracha Macha for a set menu for September 12-13th with: 1. Shark tacos 2. Lobster roll 3. Pork belly bahn-mi tacos 4. Watermelon mint lemonade.

5. Puffect Bakery will be doing various alcoholic macaroons.

6. There's also a new pho hamburger that will be making its debut... so be on the lookout for that!

As usual, admission is $3 and parking is free. The night market will be open Friday and Saturday from 3 pm-1am and on Sunday from 4 pm-10pm.

The address is:

Santa Anita Park 285 W Huntington Dr
Arcadia, CA 91007

I will be live tweeting all the new items from the Night Market, so make sure to follow me on Instagram @kristiehang and on Twitter @kristiehang.
