Bacon, Oysters, and Cake! Oh my!
My time in Boston was rather short this time so I only got to eat 2 real meals out. Click here for Meal Number One. Meal Number 2 for me was from Island Creek Oyster Bar. Island Creek has been a family favorite for a long time. I've been here for dinner many times, but I had never visited ICOB for brunch. I was excited to see what tasty brunch items they had that I had yet to try!Raw oysters galore! How can you not drool looking at this masterpiece? Let me just say I really enjoyed the change of pace of brunch. There were no long lines and the restaurant was nice and quite, which is completely different from dinner time. First up on the brunch menu was the lobster omelette. I was expecting lobster to be really strange in an omelette, but it wasn't at all. I actually added ketchup and tabasco sauce on top. What a interesting combo!Lobster Roll is a must! Gotta stock up on them when in Boston!Even though it was brunch I still had to order a variety of different raw oysters from the oyster bar. It didn't seem appropriate to order oysters so early in the morning, but seriously did you see that beautiful display? Other than oysters, the specialty at Island Creek is definitely the fluffy Honey Buttermilk biscuits! Amazing! I have to get one every time I'm in town. How can you say no to carbs as delectable as this?Bacon!!!! I'm usually not a fan of sweet bacon treats, but this Brown Butter Bacon Donut was amazeballs! I want this for breakfast everyday!
After having a quick brunch, I ended up running some errands with my sister to get ready for my nephew's birthday party she was throwing him. In my family, party = food. So, we were off to make a few more food stops! In Boston, the place to go for pizza is Ernesto's Pizza in the North End. I really like their white pizza and the buffalo chicken flavors. We picked up a few of these pizzas for my nephew's birthday party. Next errand on the list was dessert! The birthday boy's cake was amazing. My sister ordered a custom Funfetti flavor cake from Lulu's Sweet Shoppe. Look at that cream cheese melting. Mmmm.... Are you drooling yet? The boy is one lucky kid!In addition to his Funfetti Cake, we also picked up an assortment of cupcakes to give the party people more variety!I called my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake. Mine!
We had a great time with my nephew celebrating his birthday. Everyone enjoyed the food we can't wait until next year to do it all over again! Check out the places I ate at. Address and names below!
