Santa Monica Restaurant Week 2018
Santa Monica Restaurant Week is going on now until January 14th. This year’s theme is pomegranate! There are 35+ restaurants in the area participating in the occasion with their own special and limited time pomegranate dishes. And with the city of Santa Monica being such a health-conscious culinary destination, participating Santa Monica restaurants and their chefs have crafted custom dishes centered around pomegranate.
How cute are these little cars? Oh my gosh! I was born and raised in LA and I never knew about these! This is called Free Ride. It's a free shuttle that takes you all around Santa Monica where you can hop on and off at various stops! Drop off your car and just relax. It runs from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. They even have a selfie station inside! I hopped in the Free Ride and made me way around various Santa Monica Restaurant Week Stops! Here's some of the things I ate!
Here were some of the exciting pomegranate choices inside the famous Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel!
We stopped by The Gourmandise School in Santa Monica to try out their cooking classes and learn how to make two dishes using the theme of pomegranate!
I ended up learning how to make a pomegranate cocktail and a pomergrnate salad from scratch! So much fun! If you'd like to check out their classes, click here.
The Curious Palate is served up some delicious Pomegranate Glazed Hanger Steak Skewers! That was a great glaze!
Kye’s, one of my healthy go-tos, is serving up a special Pomegranate Sweet Kale Salad: finely chopped dino and lacinato kale, pomegranate seeds, currants and almonds in a maple dijon vinaigrette in addition to their specialty rolls!
Sushi Roku is making this Hokkaido Scallop with pomegranate seeds, kiwi, yuzu jelly, maldon and sea salt for SM Restaurant Week.
