Godiva Embraces The “Year Of the Horse” with Speciality Chocolates!
(How cool is this Lunar New Year box of Godiva chocolates? It can even stand up like a horse!)
Last week, I was invited to dinner at Lukshon in Culver City to celebrate the year of the horse. Chef Sang Yoon of Lukshon prepared dinner for us and also infused many of the night’s dishes with Godiva chocolates. It was so nice to have dinner at Lukshon. I've been wanting to go there for quite some time now, but could never bring myself it to. Why? Father's Office is right next door! How can you say no to a damn good burger?
Godiva is releasing two new Lunar New Year gift boxes for the occasion so those looking for something unique to bring over to friends and family for new year’s, you can consider this.
The Lunar New Year Gift Box is $50 and comes with 6 ‘Year of the Horse’ chocolates along with 14 Gold Ballotin pieces. It also comes in a box that is shaped like a horse! The Lunar New Year Luxury Gift Box comes with 8 of the ‘Year of the Horse’ chocolates with an assortment of other chocolates. A total of 32 pieces for $120.
So what was on the menu for this special dinner cooked by Top Chef Master himself?
If this menu looks extravagant to you, you haven't seen anything yet. There were many appetizers and Hors d'oeuvres that were served that weren't even included on the menu!
Duck popiah-pickled stem lettuce, dark chocolate hoisin, spicy lettuce purée.
Crispy whole fish-wok charred cucumbers, pecel sauce, silvered almonds.
Crab fried rice-blue crab, jasmine rice, egg, pea tendrils, serrano chile.
Chinese eggplant-fennel raita, panch puran, cocoa nibs, eggplant 'fries'
'Beef and broccoli' aka hanger steak, gai lan, black bean cocoa butter, puffed tendon.
Heirloom black rice made with lap cheong, onion, roasted garlic, Lilly's farm fried egg.
Chocolate and pear donut, macadamia and black sesame dumpling, Godvia milk chocolate cherry shooter.

Here’s a sample of what we ate. Chef Sang’s really out did himself. The meal was delectable! I’m usually quite weary of going to Asian-fusion restaurants on the Westside, but I’d definitely go back again.
