2015 Ramen Championship News
The very popular Ramen Yokocho Festival will be returning to the Santa Anita Racetrack March 28th and 29th. Every attendee will receive a ballot to cast their vote for the best U.S. Ramen Champion. There will be 11 ramen shops; 4 from Japan, and 7 from the Untied States. Only the U.S. ramen shops are eligible for competing in the Ramen Championship as the Japanese ramen shops are considered guests.
Chef Alvin Cailan of Egg Slut and now Ramen Champ will be competing against Hakata Shin-sen-gumi and Men Oh, and veteran Chef Mako Tanaka (Chinois on Main, Spago). FYI, for those who wish to avoid the crowds, there will be express lane tickets available for purchase on the website, which will only be available through pre-sale only.
Dates: March 28th & 29th, 2015 Hours: 11AM-6PM Parking: Free at Parking 6 Admission to Santa Anita Racetrack $5 (This is a mandatory charge for the venue, the Ramen Festival is free) Children under 12 get in free.
The folks from the Ramen Yokocho Festival do a great job. I've been to every one of their events thus far so I'm sure this upcoming Ramen Festival will be lots of fun as well.
