True Food Kitchen Debuts Spring Menu
True Food Kitchen has been killing it at the healthy food game lately. Although they are an extremely well known restaurant chain, they didn't make their debut in Old Town Pasadena until last year. Since then, they have been extremely well-received. They are literally packed ALL. THE. TIME! Because the restaurant does things seasonally, there's always something new on the menu depending on what ingredients are freshest. I was lucky enough to be invited back to try their Spring Menu, which is out now. Here's what you can look forward to!
And it doesn't just stop at the food. There's always new creative drinks and desserts to try as well! Some of the new favorites are the Cherry Chia Limeade, the Hangover Rx pineapple with orange, honey, coconut water, and the Medicine Man with triple-brewed black tea, blueberry, pomegranate, honey, sea buckthorn.
First up is their vegan Roasted Artichoke Pizza. Made with sugar snap pea, smoked onion, roasted garlic, vegan salmon ricotta, black truffle, it's something that tastes unlike any other pizza out there. For those health buffs, this may be your next favorite pizza!
One of the more interesting dishes on the menu is the poke. I know everyone and their mother has being doing poke lately, but True Food Kitchen's poke is made with wild caught albacore, avocado, quinoa rice, mushroom, snow pea, cucumber, cashew, turmeric ponzu. It's a interesting and unique spin on the dish.
My favorite pizza of the new menu is the Wild Mushroom asparagus, roasted garlic, taleggio pizza. It's delicious. Whereas with the Roasted Articoke Pizza tasted healthy, the new Wild Mushroom pizza does a good job at fooling you that you are eating on the healthier side.
If you are an avocado lover, you have to order the new Torched Avocado dish. It's like making creme brûlée, but with avocado! Excellent, refreshing dish. This was an absolute must-order for me!
True Food Kitchen's new dessert menu absolutely blew me away--specifically their Sea Buckthorn Sorbet with luxardo cherry. I basically licked the bowl clean! This was absolutely addicting. I want to scream from the mountain tops about this dessert! Please go get it! You'll thank me later. Sea Buckthorn is sour and taste. Together with the cherry and sorbet, it's the perfect amount of tangy! Best part is it's also vegan and gluten-free.
My sweet tooth was so happy with the Key Lime Pie with coconut chantilly. I'm normally not a fan of Key Lime Pie, but wow, this melted in my mouth! It was vegan and gluten-free as well! I would go to True Food Kitchen just for the drinks and desserts!
