The Taste 2015: Dinner With a Twist
One of my favorite food events that I look forward to each year is the L.A. Time's The Taste, which takes place every Labor Day weekend. I'm constantly blown away by the unique events, special guests, and eateries that participate in the three-day food festival. The Dinner with a Twist event kicked off with a food pairing demonstration featuring Belgian Chef Daniel Joly and Master Beer Sommelier Marc Stroobandt using Stella Artois. I particularly enjoyed the mixology demonstrations, hosted by Jonathan Gold and Jenn Harris. It was a beautiful night on the Paramount Studios lot. The weather was cool and the event is top notch. As someone who loves social media, you really can't beat this event. No one does it better!
Every year, I try to taste as many foods as possible from the event. It's a very difficult feat. Here were some of the standouts for me.
I'm still drooling over Triple & Brine's marinated geoduck and The BLVD's chicken liver.
Church Key is consistently one of my favorite places to take out-of -towners to. Their dimsum concept and Pam-Am carts with alcoholic popsicles always get the conversation started and make for great Instagram photos . It's no surprise then, that Church Key won over my sweet tooth at The Taste with their bubble gum ice cream with blue raspberry glaze. And I don't even like bubble gum. That's how good it was!
