New Dog Haus Expansions + Menu
(Check out my video recap)
Dog Haus has always been one of my favorite places to kick back, relax, and enjoy a tasty gourmet hot dog on King's Hawaiian bread! I usually frequent the Pasadena locations because they are closer to me. Plus, the Old Town location has a biergarten, which is a great place to watch the big game and hang out in Old Town Pasadena. If you follow me, you probably know I'm originally from the San Fernando Valley so I was super excited when Dog Haus opened up a new restaurant in my former backyard, Canoga Park. What put the icing on the cake was that they actually debuted 4 new sausages that were only available at that location. Those sausages have since launched at their other Dog Haus locations so now everyone can go try them out!Loved the parking situation! The cute, new Canoga Park decor. The staff cooking up my hot dogs. The newest additions to the Dog Haus menu, which you can order too!Left is The Pig Lebowski with polish kielbasa, haus fries, haus slaw, BBQ sauce. Right is The Pig and the Fig with emmentaler cheese-stuffed sausage, fig & onion relish, wild arugula, whole grain mustard aioli, sliced almonds. If you love figs, you definitely need to order The Pig and the Fig. It tasted like a refreshing fruit salad on a Hawaiian bun. The hot dog had a sweet and tart taste. It's definitely not what you expect when you think of eating a hot dog. Front left we have the Bad Mutha Cluka made with chicken fontina sausage, sun dried tomato aioli, basil, crispy onions. Front right we have the Kung Pao Cajun with Cajun andouille, kung pao sauce, bell peppers, green onions, water chestnuts, peanuts. The Bad Mutha Cluka was actually my favorite of the four new sausages. It was also one of the tamer new sausages. The Kung Pao Cajun tasted like the Kung Pao Chicken from Panda Express sprinkled on a Hawaiian bun so if you love that dish, you should check this sausage out. I loved all the subtle details of the decor as well. A bench asking for my sweet buns? Or maybe it's talking about their sweet buns? Ha!They also had a 'Get Stuffed' detail on their other chairs. Thank you to Dog Haus for inviting me to taste-test their latest additions to the menu. You can now order these babies at your local Dog Haus. I'm also very excited to see what Adam Gertler, of The Next Food Network Star fame, will add to the team. He was just officially named the "Würstmacher" (sausage-maker) for Dog Haus. He will be working to help come up with new hot dogs flavors and combinations. Dog Haus is also opening a bunch of new locations in the future so make sure to check back here for the latest. Although there are no dates set in stone yet, the Santa Ana and West Covina locations will probably be open in September and Thousand Oaks and Burbank are looking more towards this coming fall. They are also working on a location in Northridge right near CSUN, which I think will be extremely popular!
